In April 2025, Brothers In Arms launched its Alumni Program, and this year we celebrate a year of supporting young men who have been with us at the center and are now integrated into the community. They are not just grown, but skilled and responsible, ready to lead fulfilling lives and contribute meaningfully and productively with the skills and equipment provided by BIA. At Brothers In Arms, the journey doesn't end when a boy completes the program—it transforms into a new chapter of purpose, independence, and impact.

The Alumni Program exists to ensure that every young man who passes through BIA is not only equipped with skills but also empowered to stand on his own and contribute meaningfully to society.

A Bridge to Independence

Transitioning from structured care into independent life can be challenging. That is why the Alumni Program provides practical support, mentorship, and startup resources to help graduates apply what they have learned.

From tailoring and welding to farming and entrepreneurship, these young men are stepping into their communities with confidence and direction.

Equipped to Thrive

Recently, several alumni have taken bold steps toward building sustainable livelihoods:

  • Stanley and Grant, trained in tailoring and design, have each received sewing machines and support to establish their own businesses in different locations. What began as a skill has now become a source of income and dignity.

  • Emmanuel, who specializes in poultry farming, has been supported with materials to build a chicken pen capable of raising over 100 broilers. With a selling point already secured in his local trading center, he is now stepping into business with purpose.

  • Alfred and Chisomo have been equipped with toolboxes to launch their work in electrical installation and motor vehicle mechanics, while Simeon is expanding his opportunities by gaining driving skills.

These are not just success stories—they are signs of transformation in motion.

More Than Skills

At BIA, empowerment goes beyond tools and training. It is about raising young men who become agents of change in their communities—restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and inspiring others.

Each graduate carries not only a skill but also values of discipline, responsibility, and faith that shape how they live and lead.

A Future Being Built

Our vision is to see every BIA graduate become financially stable, socially responsible, and spiritually grounded. The Alumni Program plays a vital role in making this vision a reality.

As these young men establish businesses and build their futures, they are also rewriting narratives—proving that transformation is possible.

Join the Journey

The journey has been successful and fruitful thanks to generous supporters and stakeholders, and we believe we can assist more youth and positively influence more communities with this program. The impact of the Alumni Program continues to expand, but so does the demand. With ongoing support, more young men can receive the tools and opportunities necessary for success.

By working together, we are not merely training—we are changing lives for future generations. Reach out to us to support and join this thrilling journey.
